Tzaddi is a Butoh dancer, somatic psychologist and cognitive scientist. He began dancing Butoh in 2000 with Joan Laage, dkPan, Sheri Brown and Maureen Momo Freehill in Seattle, WA. In 2001 – 2003, he studied with Yumiko Yoshioka in Berlin and Schloss Broellin. In the same period, he studied, taught and performed in Berlin, Paris and Barcelona with his troupe Kyoki Gaijin, establishing a Butoh and circus school in the Poblé Nou barrio of Barcelona. Most recently, he has been deepening his Butoh with Imre Thormann in France and Rhizome Lee at the Subbody Butoh School in Dharamsala, India. His study of somatic psychology began in 2001 when he met his mentor Dr. Daniel Schiff. He has since completed a 5 year training course in Neo-Reichian somatic psychotherapy with Dr. Schiff and Mitch Singer. Most recently, he has been working to integrate Butoh dance and Reichian bodywork into a system of performer training as well as a healing modality. He holds a BSc. from the University of Illinois and an MSc. from DePaul University, where he studied Psychology, Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence.
